I haven't been at all productive in any way for the past... hum... can't recall... prob sometime between the end of the documentary release til now.. that's about 2 months all rite... :(
so what to do? i can't remain idle for the rest of the summer! I know the weather is bloody hot, and I don't feel like doing a thing in the heat... but there must be sth i can do that's sweat-free.... THINK!!!
so.. the first thing I can come up with is... y not read more books in English, so i can eventually reach the fundamental English level like the natives? but at the same time, doing this will just mean my Chinese will suck forever ~ at least this is an idea.
second idea... I still don't have a driver's license, YET! geeesh~ i m turning 20-sth years old... lol maybe i will sign up a driving course and get the thing over with....
but then, i am also very interested in learning Spanish~~ hehehehehe it's been my life goal to visit Mexico~ not just sight seeing there.. but be able to communicate with locals and live there for a short period of time.~ That's y i will have to have some knowledge in the language besides all the slangs ~ LOL
wellllll..... but these things don't neccessarily help me with my career, i don't think~ and they won't completely occupy my time while there's no films rolling~ so..... IDEAS!!! FEED ME! hehehehehheehe
(maybe i can become active in writing my blog again :)

What I have been busying at...
according to a close friend... I have been MIA for a while~ aka Missing in Action...
damn, I know... what have I been doing lately besides lacking of sleep? I haven't completely disappeared from the Internet... but for my friends who live in the same city as I am (currently) definitely haven't seen my face for ages...
yeah.. that's the movie business... no weekends, no sleep, no social life that's unrelated to the movie itself.
The movie I have been working on with director LIN Cheng-Sheng will be out in theatre here in Taiwan at the end of this month. It's a documentary movie on the topic of Autism.
well.. not completely on that topic.. but the four subjects we filmed all have light to severe autism syndrome...
it's not a documentary that wants you to learn the medical terms of the syndrome.. or what to look out to or beware of .. of someone who has autism.. It's a documentary that wants to bring awareness to the general public that... people who have autism are human, too~ They might not act like what "normal" people should act..though they have feelings, that can sense anything and everything surrounds them.
They might not have the ability to express their feeling verbally (thus why sometimes they show their emotion in a different way...for example... throw tamtrums..draw excessively..etc) however, they are focus on what they are most interested in, and do a outstanding job than a "normal" person do.
look around yourself... if there's someone you think that acts weird, have you ever think about what sort of disability or ability they might have? don''t judge people from what they look or how they act. Really... get to know a person and you will think the world a better place.
the official blog of the documentary "Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars" :一閃一閃亮晶晶"
For those who understand or understands a bit of Chinese, I hope you all can take some time off to watch this movie (NOT because I participated in the making of it... hahaha)

outcast
do you ever have the feeling that, you don't belong somewhere or to something, but there's nothing you can do about it just yet?
to have more excuses on.. "can't just do anything about it, yet" matter... it's those still bondages that you create when spending time with something or someone for a period of time. for example, i wanted to get out of boston when i graduated from college. but then the stupid bondages i created while in college became the main reason that i stayed... hoping that i would find a job at the time, although deep in my heart i know i won't stay in that city and began work. (is that weird to talk about it now?)
anyway, so the tale goes on... at least I spent 4 and a half year in Boston to get really tired of it... whereas here in Taiwan, where I have spent not even 2 years since my return... is getting on my nerve every single second of everyday. sad. y can't y be satisfied with what they have got at the moment and always seeks for more? greedy. indeed.
again, i know there are many good qualities on this island. but i guess i am not "good enough" for it. my heart will always lean towards the city of freedom and possibilities. a recent re-mix song ("Empire State of Mind") by Jay-Z and Alicia keys, chant about the city that many loved and loves. The part where Alicia sings ....
In New York,
Concrete jungle where dreams are made of,
Theres nothing you can’t do,
Now you’re in New York,
these streets will make you feel brand new,
Big lights will inspire you,
lets hear it for New York, New York, New York

ain't that totally true? well at least in my opinion, it is.

movies and so on..
i took the liberty of watching two movies at work yesterday (shame shame shame)...well, let me explain myself... there are not many translating jobs for me on editing as of now, and no one else that i ought to contact works on Sundays... so y don't i use the fast internet connections at Homer and watch some movies? so there it was, my excuse ... :)
so the movies I saw were "Where the Wild things are" and "Julie & Julia"... I don't know if it was only me, but "where the wild things are" is a strange movie!... I mean, it was a interesting children's book story to begin with, but man~ it was strange. Tho I admire the talent of the director Spike Jonze to transform something so short into an almost 1:30h movie. And the set, costumes were in no doubt the well-known children's story. Tha's all I have to say about this one.
the next "Julie & Julia." What a delicious movie, I must say! ohhh~ the French cuisine! YUM! It was a movie adopted from a novel which was written based on two true stories~ True stories are always convincing subjects to me. The story was filimed in two periods. One, on the story about Julia Child, a famous American French Cook, whose book "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" changed many American household cooking. The other, a girl named "Julie Powell" who is a big admirer of Julia Child set a task on herself of cooking every single receipe in the book within one year, and blog about it. These two characters somehow also intertwined as the movie goes. Starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams. ohhhh this movie was so cute and made me wanna have my own kitchen and start cooking again. For those... who love food, you must take a look at this movie :)
so... the conclusion is.... hum... i really should do something about my lack of passion... I mean, i should find a goal.. like Julie Powell in the movie, she gave herself a task to acomplish.. I think that's a motiv for life... what should my be? anyone?

so as of now, i announce... this blog will be idol for a while.. until the day i am ready to throw new stuff again. hahaha

Let me slowly introduce you to this interesting place :D
